OUR SPIRITUAL KINGSHIP

"Unto him (Christ) who loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen." Revelation 1:6-7

In being a disciple of Christ, we are made to be a spiritual king in the Kingdom of God. Therefore, we must be a spiritual king in the Kingdom of God so that with the Lord's help we can overcome the forces of evil.

Learn the following truth because your life is valuable.

THE REASONS FOR OUR SPIRITUAL KINGSHIP

I. In being a New Testament Christian, we are made to be a spiritual king in the Kingdom of God because we have been washed (cleansed) from our sins by the precious blood of Christ. "If we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin." 1 John 1:7

II. In being a son of God by regeneration, we are made to be a spiritual king in the Kingdom of God because we have been given a Kingdom. "Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." Luke 12:32

III. In being a new creature in Christ, we are made to be a spiritual king in the Kingdom of God because it (the Kingdom of God) dwells within us. "The kingdom of God cometh not with observation: Neither shall thy say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you." Luke 17:20-21

THE REQUIREMENTS FOR OUR SPIRITUAL KINGSHIP

I. If we rule in the Kingdom of God, we must rule and be ruled by the word of God. "It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." Matthew 4:4 "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God (God spoken), and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." 2 Timothy 3:15-16

II. If we rule in the Kingdom of God, we must rule and be ruled by the words of Christ. "He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day." John 12:48 "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him." Colossians 3:16-17

THE BLESSINGS OF OUR SPIRITUAL KINGSHIP

I. In being a New Testament Christian, we are made to be a spiritual king in the Kingdom of God so that we can rule over the forces of evil in this life. "If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? And if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door (the door of your heart). And unto thee shall be his desire, thou shalt rule over him" (the powers of Satan). Genesis 4:7 "Let not sin therefore reign (rule) in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lust thereof. Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God." Romans 6:12-13

II. In being a son of God by regeneration, we are made to be a spiritual king in the Kingdom of God so that we can reign (rule) with Christ. "If we suffer, we shall also reign (rule) with him: if we deny him, he also will deny us." 2 Timothy 2:12

III. In being a new creature in Christ, we are made to be a spiritual king in the Kingdom so that we can rule eternally over Satan in our Heavenly Home. "He that overcometh (the powers of sin), and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: and he shall rule them with rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall thy be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father." Revelation 2:26-27

IV. In being a New Testament Saint, we are made to be a spiritual king in the Kingdom of God so that we can sit upon the Throne of God in our Heavenly Home. "To him that overcometh (the forces of evil) will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne." Revelation 3:21

There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body." 1 Corinthians 15:44 "Who (our Lord) shall change our vile body (our fleshly body), that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body (His Spiritual Body), according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself." Philippians 3:21 "And as we have borne the image of the earthy (the earthy man who possesses a physical body, and an Eternal Soul and Spirit), we shall also bear the image of the heavenly" (the Spiritual Person who has a Spiritual Body, and an Eternal Soul and Spirit). 1 Corinthians 15:49 This means that we will be a Spiritual Person who possesses a Spiritual Body, and an Eternal Soul and Spirit in our Heavenly Home because these are the Spiritual Characteristics of a Spiritual Person.

Amen." 1 Timothy 6:15-16 "To them (the Christians) who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life."
