A NEGATIVE ATTITUDE "Keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it (the heart) are found the issues of life.Proverbs 4:23 "For as a man thinketh in his heart so is he." Proverbs 23:7
If we be a faithful Christian, we can not afford to have a negative attitude because that would make us to do the wrong things in life. Therefore, we must have a positive attitude in every thing that we do so that we can have the proper attitude in life.
Learn the following truth because you life is priceless.
THE CAUSES OF A NEGATIVE ATTITUDE I. Doubt will cause us to have a negative attitude. Doubt seems to engender doubt. If we begin to doubt the promises of God, we will become a doubled minded person. "If any man lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all of ways." James 1:5-8
II. Fear will engender us to have a negative attitude. Fear seems to enhance fear. If we are fearful of failure, we will become an unfaithful servant of the Lord. "Then he (the one talented man) which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed; And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine. His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents. For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away that which he hath. And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth." Matthew 25:24-30
III. Unbelief will enhance us to possess a negative attitude. Unbelief seems to engender unbelief. If we become an unbelieving person, we will depart from the living God. "Wherefore as the Holy Spirit said, Today if ye will hear his voice. Harden not you hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: When your father tempted me, proved me, and saw my works forty years. Wherefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their hearts; and they have not know my ways. So I sware in my wrath, They shall not enter into my rest. Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. But exhort one another daily, which it is called today; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin." Hebrews 3:7-13
THE CURE FOR A NEGATIVE ATTITUDE I. Believing the promises of God is the prescription for a negative attitude. If we believe the promises of God, we will walk humbly with the Lord our God. "And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean things; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty." 2 Corinthians 6:16-18 "Therefore having these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God." 2 Corinthians 7:1
II. Trusting in the Living God is the treatment for a negative attitude. If we trust in the Lord our God, we will follow His directions. "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Proverbs 3:5-6
III. Relying upon the powers of God is the antidote for a negative attitude. If we rely upon the powers, we will be a faithful servant of the most high God. "Now unto him (God) who is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy. To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen." Jude 24-25
IV. Developing an obedient faith is the remedy for a negative attitude. If we develop an obedient faith, we will obey the commandments of God. "Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered; And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him." Hebrews 5:8-9
THE RESULTS OF A NEGATIVE ATTITUDE "Those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies. These are the things which defile a man". Matthew 15:18-20
I. A negative attitude can produce evil thoughts. If we constantly have evil thoughts, we will commit evil deeds. "Be not deceived; evil communication corrupt good manners. Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame." 1 Corinthians 15:33-34
II. A negative attitude can cause murders. If we dislike our brother long enough, we will at least try to murder his reputation. "Whosoever hateth his brother is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him. Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren." 1 John 3:15-16
III. A negative attitude can engender adultery. If we should lust for a strange woman, we would at least be committing adultery with her in our heart. "Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children." 2 Peter 2:14
IV. A negative attitude can bring about fornication. If we should long for another woman long enough, we would be trying to commit fornication with her. "For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus. For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication: That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour." 1 Thessalonians 4:2-4
V. A negative attitude can perform thefts. If we covet that which our neighbour has long enough, we would try to seal it from him. "Let him that stole steal no more, but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth." Ephesians 4:28
VI. A negative attitude can create false witness. Why would one person desire that another person testify to that which is false for him? If a person does that which is wrong and is about to be punished for it, he would want another person to testify falsely for him. "These six things doth the Lord hat: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood. An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift running to mischief. A False witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren." Proverbs 6:16-18
VII. A negative attitude can produce blasphemies (evil speaking). Why does a person speak evil words? A person speaks evil words because his own works are evil. "And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam prophesied of these, saying, Behold the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds, which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speech which ungodly sinner have spoken against him." Jude 14-15
THE CONCLUSION I. We in being a New Testament Christian can overcome a negative attitude by learning that we have been created and redeemed by three Heavenly Persons who equally are ruling in the Godhead in being called the Father, the Word and the Holy Spirit, and who are ruling in the Godhead bodily of Christ in being called the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit so that in this world we can become like Them. Equality signifies that those three Heavenly Persons who equally are ruling in the Godhead and in the Godhead bodily of Christ in matters of our own creation and redemption of life are equal in power, rule and authority in matters of Their Own Individual Being of life because They equally possess the same kind of Personage, Powers, Nature and Attributes of life.
II. God who is the head of Christ and Christ who is subjected to God is the being of a Father-head Figure and an Offspring Status Relationship instead of being two ranked Persons (Personalities or Beings) because those three God-Persons, who were ruling in the Godhead in being called the Father, the Word and the Holy Spirit, equally made Themselves to rule in the Godhead bodily of Christ in being called the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit so that They could be our Redeemer. Rank would mean that the Father would be the first Person in power, rule and authority; the Son (Jesus) would be the second Person in power, rule and authority; whereas the Holy Spirit would be the third Person in power, rule and authority.
III. The Godhead and the Godhead bodily of Christ are the two Divine Terms in which three Heavenly Persons who equally are ruling in matters of our own creation and redemption of life because we in being a New Testament Christian have been created and redeemed by three equal Persons who are ruling in the Godhead in being called the Father, the Word and the Holy Spirit and who are ruling in the Godhead bodily of Christ in being called the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit so that in that world which is to come we can become equal (having power, rule and authority) with Them.
A. We in being a New Testament Christian will become equal with those three Spiritual Persons who equally are ruling in the Godhead and in the Godhead bodily of Christ in matters of our own creation and redemption of life because in our Heavenly Home we will equally possess Their Spiritual Personage of life which will be a Spiritual Body, and an Eternal Soul and Spirit in reference to our own individual nature of life. "And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ." 1 Thessalonians 5:23 "It is sown a nature body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body." 1 Corinthians 15:44 "Who (our Lord) shall change our vile body (our fleshly body), that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body (His Spiritual Body), according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself." Philippians 3:21 "And as we have borne the image of the earthy (the earthy man who possesses a physical body, and an Eternal Soul and Spirit), we shall also bear the image of the heavenly" (the Spiritual Person who has a Spiritual Body, and an Eternal Soul and Spirit). 1 Corinthians 15:49 This means that we will be a Spiritual Person who possesses a Spiritual Body, and an Eternal Soul and Spirit in our Heavenly Home because these are the Spiritual Characteristics of a Spiritual Person.
B. We in being a New Testament Christian will become equal with those three Divine Persons who equally are ruling in the Godhead and in the Godhead bodily of Christ in matters of our own creation and redemption of life because in our Heavenly Home we will equally possess Their Divine Powers of life in reference to our own individual being of life. "If we suffer, we shall also reign (rule) with him (the Lord our God). If we deny him, he also will deny us." 2 Timothy 2:12 "To him that overcometh (the forces of evil) will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne." Revelation 3:21 "And to him will I give power over the nations. And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father." Revelation 2:26-27 "And they shall reign (rule) for ever and ever" (over the powers of Satan). Revelation 22:5 This means that we will be Omnipotent, Omniscient and Omnipresent in our Heavenly Home because these are the Divine Powers of a Divine Person.
C. We in being a New Testament Christian will become equal with those three Divine Persons who equally are ruling in the Godhead and in the Godhead bodily of Christ in matters of our own creation and redemption of life because in our Heavenly Home we will equally possess Their Divine Nature of life in reference to our own individual nature of life. "It is written in your law, I said, Ye (created men) are gods. If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scriptures can not be broken." John 10:34-35 "God has given unto us many exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust." 2 Peter 1:4 "Him that overcometh (the powers of Satan) will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name." Revelation 3:12 "Of whom (God) the whole family in heaven and earth is named." Ephesians 3:15 This means that we will be eternal, impartial, self-existing, glorious, accessible, monotheistical, divine, visible, perfect, immutable, spiritual and immortal in our Heavenly Home because these are the Divine Traits of a Divine Person.
D.We in being a New Testament Christian will become equal with those three Divine Persons who equally are ruling in the Godhead and in the Godhead bodily of Christ in matters of our own creation and redemption of life because in our Heavenly Home we will equally possess Their Divine Attributes of life in reference to our own individual being of life. "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." Matthew 5:48 "Be ye also merciful, as your Father also is merciful." Luke 6:38 "He that overcometh (the powers of sin), the same shall be clothed in white raiment (having his Divine Attributes Perfected): and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angles." Revelation 3:5 "For there shall in no wise enter into it (the Heavenly City) any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life." Revelation 21:27 This means that we will be lovable, holy, merciful, faithful, just, righteous, good, jealous, truthful, longsuffering, unchangeable and gracious in our Heavenly Home because these are the Divine Attributes of a Divine Person.
E. We in being a New Testament Christian will become equal with those three Divine Persons who equally are ruling in the Godhead and in the Godhead bodily of Christ in matters of our own creation and redemption of life because we are heirs of God and joint-heirs (equal heirs) with Christ in matters of our own creation and redemption of life."The Spirit (the Holy Spirit) Himself beareth witness with our spirit (our character: our personality), that we are the children of God (by creation and by regeneration): And If children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs (equal heirs) with Christ." Romans 8:16-17 This means that in our Heavenly Home all Divine Persons will be equal in power, rule and authority.
F. We in being a New Testament Christian will become equal with those three Heavenly Persons who equally are ruling in the Godhead and in the Godhead bodily of Christ in matters of our own creation and redemption of life because in our Heavenly Home we will equally possess Their Heavenly Immortality of life in reference to our own individual nature of life. "Which in his times he shall shew who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords: Who only hath immortality (the Lord in all of His Power and Glory only has immortality, but the Lord has promised to give unto us those same Spiritual Blessings of Immortality), dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen." 1 Timothy 6:15-16 "To them (the Christians) who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life." Romans 2:7 This means that we will be a deathless Person in our Heavenly Home because a Heavenly Person can not die in a physical or in a Spiritual Way.
1). We in being a New Testament Christian can become all that God will ever be because we can become the fullness of God in our Heavenly Home. Paul prayed that, "Ye (Christians) might be filled with all the fullness (the completeness) of God." Ephesians 3:19
2).We in being a New Testament Christian will become all that God is in the way of Personage, Powers, Nature and Attributes of life because God must become all and in all. Paul said that we will be presented to God in heaven so that "God (the Spiritual Nature of God) may be all (to each Person who has been saved) and in all" (of each Person that is saved). 1 Corinthians 15:28
